Why this is more accurate than other calculators
Most "Amazon FBA fee calculators" online use estimated category-average fees. Sometimes they're close, often they're 10-30% off. They can't account for the actual product's size tier, weight, hazmat status, or category-specific referral rates.
This calculator uses the official Amazon Selling Partner API (the same API Amazon uses internally) to fetch the exact fees Amazon would charge for that specific ASIN at that specific sell price.
Plus we calculate both VAT-registered and non-VAT-registered scenarios — most calculators ignore UK VAT entirely.
What Amazon UK fees does the calculator cover?
Referral fee. A percentage of the selling price, set by product category. It is the biggest variable, which is why a generic percentage is often wrong.
FBA fulfilment fee. Amazon's pick, pack and delivery charge, based on the item's size and weight band.
VAT on Amazon's fees. Amazon charges VAT on its fees. VAT-registered sellers reclaim it; non-registered sellers carry it as a cost. This is where most UK calculators go wrong, so the tool shows both cases.

What fees does Amazon UK charge FBA sellers?
The main ones are the referral fee (a percentage of the selling price that depends on the product category), the FBA fulfilment fee (based on the size and weight of the item), and monthly storage fees for stock held in Amazon warehouses. Depending on your situation you may also pay returns processing, removal or disposal fees, and the cost of prep and getting stock to Amazon. Amazon adds VAT to its fees. If you are VAT-registered you can reclaim it; if not, it is a real cost.
How do I calculate my Amazon FBA profit in the UK?
Start from the price the customer pays, take off the referral fee and FBA fee (and the VAT on Amazon's fees if you cannot reclaim it), take off your buying cost and any prep or shipping cost, and handle output VAT correctly if you are VAT-registered. What is left is your profit; divide it by your buying cost for return on investment. The calculator above does this for you for both VAT scenarios.
How accurate are the FBA fees in this calculator?
The referral fee and FBA fulfilment fee are pulled directly from Amazon's Selling Partner API (SP-API) using the getMyFeesEstimate endpoint — same data Amazon uses internally. They're as accurate as Amazon's own estimate. The calculator excludes variable costs like prep fees, inbound shipping, storage fees, and returns, which depend on your specific situation.
What does "VAT-registered" vs "not VAT-registered" mean?
UK businesses with annual turnover over £90,000 must register for VAT. VAT-registered sellers charge VAT on Amazon sales (then remit to HMRC) and reclaim VAT on supplier purchases. Non-VAT-registered sellers keep the full sell price but cannot reclaim VAT on purchases. The calculator shows both scenarios so you can see exactly how VAT registration affects your bottom line.
What is the £20 break-even point?
Break-even is the minimum sell price needed to make zero profit (covers buy cost + Amazon fees). The calculator shows this so you know how much price drop you can absorb before the deal stops being viable.
