Profit Tracker is the answer to "how much money am I actually making on Amazon?" — the question every UK seller asks at the end of every quarter and the question every existing UK FBA profit tool answers slightly wrong, because they treat VAT as an afterthought.

The math: net profit per ASIN = Amazon payout (after referral fees, FBA fees, storage, returns) minus your cost of goods minus your prep cost. For VAT-registered sellers, we extract output VAT from the sell price (otherwise you overstate revenue by 20%) and reclaim input VAT on Amazon fees (otherwise you understate). For non-VAT sellers, neither — the math is simpler, and we don't pretend it isn't.

Behind the scenes Profit Tracker pulls your live SP-API order data on a 6-hourly schedule and shows the picture per ASIN, per period, per sourcing channel (OA/RA/Wholesale/A2A). Enter your cost of goods once per ASIN (or import them in bulk from a CSV) and the dashboard does everything else.

Heads up — current access state

Members on Mentorship today connect their own SP-API to enable live profit pulls. We're awaiting Amazon's public-developer approval which (when granted) will auto-connect every member on the suite.

How it works

  1. 1

    Connect your SP-API

One-click OAuth flow (members on Mentorship today). The connection is read-only for orders + fees — we never have permission to change your prices or list new products through this connection.

  2. 2

Enter cost of goods per ASIN

Either ASIN-by-ASIN via the dashboard, or bulk-import a CSV with ASIN/COG/source columns. Member settings page also lets you set a default prep cost per unit globally.

  3. 3

    Auto-sync every 6 hours

A background job pulls your latest orders + payouts from SP-API every 6 hours. New ASINs auto-appear; existing rows update their lifetime totals.

  4. 4

Drill into any ASIN, any period

Time filters: today / 7 days / 30 days / 90 days / lifetime. Per-ASIN detail shows unit economics, sales velocity, BSR trend, FBA seller count history.

Frequently asked questions

How does this handle VAT exactly?

If your member settings say VAT-registered = Yes: we divide your gross Amazon sale price by 1.20 to get net revenue, and divide your Amazon fees by 1.20 to extract reclaimable input VAT. If VAT-registered = No: gross sale = net revenue, fees are treated as their full gross amount. The profit calculation respects this throughout.

What if I have multiple A2A buying accounts?

Set them up in Inventory Tracker → A2A Accounts. Each order syncs its source account automatically; the Profit Tracker rolls them up. You can filter the profit table by source account in the Sourcing tab.

How often does the data refresh?

Every 6 hours via cron. Faster sync is available on Mentorship Plus (every 2 hours). The interval matters less than you'd think — Amazon settles payouts every 14 days regardless, so 6h vs 2h doesn't change cash visibility.

Can I track refunds and returns?

Yes — SP-API's reports include refund + return data. The dashboard surfaces this as a separate column ("Refund %") and the profit math is net of refunds, not gross.

How does this compare to Sellerboard?

Sellerboard is the established competitor and a respectable product. The main differences: (1) ours integrates with the Inventory Tracker and Repricer so data flows between tools; (2) UK VAT handling is first-class not flag-based; (3) £0 extra on Mentorship vs Sellerboard's £15-30/mo. Sellerboard does have a more polished reporting UI and a strong PPC-attribution layer if you run sponsored ads — if PPC is core to your business, Sellerboard is the better choice. For straight arbitrage/wholesale, ours is.

Do I need SP-API to use this?

Yes — there's no way to track profit accurately without it. The connection takes 2 minutes (Mentorship members) — Lewis walks you through it in onboarding.
